1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup (6 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup raisins
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
Preparation Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or lightly grease and dust with flour. Cream butter with sugars in large bowl. Add eggs and vanilla; beat until light. Combine flour, cocoa and baking soda in small bowl. Add to creamed mixture with chocolate chips, raisins, and walnuts; stir until well blended. Scoop out about 1/2 cupful of dough for each cookie. Place on cookie sheets, spacing about 5 inches apart. Using knife dipped in water, smooth dough out to 3 1/2 inches in diameter. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden. Remove to wire racks to cool. Makes about 16 cookies.
