New Mexican Chocolate Crinkles

1 cup plus 6 tablespoons all purpose flour
1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
5 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Preparation Instructions:

1. Combine the flour, baking powder and cinnamon.

2. In another bowl, beat together the butter and brown sugar until creamy. Beat in the eggs. Blend.

3. Add vanilla and melted chocolate. Mix evenly.

4. Gradually add the flour mixture and mix together. Form to a soft dough.

5. Chill until dough can be handled. (Use the freezer for extra quick chilling.)

6. Shape dough into balls, about 1 inch. Roll into remaining sugar and cinnamon.

7. Place on greased cookie sheet.

8. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes. Cool for a minute on pan before removing to rack to cool.
