Preparation Instructions:
Prepare Sugar Cookie dough. Divide dough into thirds. Cover each third with plastic wrap. Chill all dough 2 to 3 hours, or until firm. Heat oven to 400 degrees. On floured surface, roll 2/3 of dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Using 2 1/4 inch round cookie cutter, cut circles into dough. Place circles 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Set aside. on floured surface, roll remaining 1/3 dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Using 2 inch cookie cutter of desired shape, cut shapes into dough. Sprinkle shapes with coloured sugar. Place one sugared shape on top of each plain shape. Bake for 5 to 7 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool completely before storing.
