4 ounces spaghetti, medium egg noodles, or elbow macaroni
1 1/2 pounds ground beef, pork, or lamb
1 cup thinly sliced celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
10 3/4 ounce can condensed cream of onion, chicken, or potato soup
1 cup shredded American, cheddar, or Monterey Jack cheese (4 ounces)
1/2 cup beef or chicken broth or apple juice
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
3/4 teaspoon dried thyme, marjoram, or savory, crushed
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup fne dry bread crumbs
1 tablespoon melted butter or margarine
Preparation Instructions:
Cook pasta according to package directions; drain and set aside. In a 12 inch skillet cook meat, celery, and onion till meat is browned and onion is tender. Drain off excess fat. Stir in desired soup, cheese, liquid, Worcestershire, seasoning, salt, and pasta. Turn into a 2 quart casserole. Stir together bread crumbs and melted butter or margarine; sprinkle atop. Bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes or till heated through. Makes 6 servings.
