1/4 cup stick margarine or butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 large egg
2 tablespoons corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup chocolate chips
Preparation Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, beat margarine and brown sugar until well combined - the mixture will have the consistency of wet sand. Add egg, corn syrup and vanilla and beat until smooth.
In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. Add to the sugar mixture and stir by hand just until combined. Stir in chocolate chips just as the dough comes together.
Drop spoonfuls of dough about 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet that has been sprayed with nonstick spray. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden and just set. Do not overbake. Transfer to a wire rack to cool. Makes 20 cookies.
