Ham and Cheese Appetizers

AmountIngredient
1 1/2 cupsall purpose flour
1/2 cupcornmeal
3 teaspoonsbaking powder
1 teaspoonsalt
1/2 cupbutter or margarine
1/2 cupminced ham, packed
1/2 cupshredded sharp Cheddar, packed
3/4 cupmilk
1 tablespoonDijon-style mustard

Preparation Instructions:

1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt.

2. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in the ham and cheese.

3. Combine the milk and mustard. Stir into the mixture. Quickly mix to a dough. Add a little extra flour if dough is too sticky.

4. Pat out onto a lightly floured board, making the dough 1/2 inch thick.

5. Cut biscuits with a 2 inch cutter or small glass. Place on a lightly buttered baking sheet.

6. Bake at 450 degrees for about 12 minutes until golden.

7. Serve hot from the oven or reheat before serving.
