Easy Cheesy Broccoli

AmountIngredient
1 1/2 poundsfresh broccoli
Sauce:
1 cancream-of-mushroom soup
1/3 cuphalf-and-half
1 tablespoongrated red onion
2/3 cupgrated cheddar cheese
dashpaprika
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
3 tablespoonsbuttered bread crumbs

Preparation Tips:

1. Wash and trim broccoli. Remove flowerets from stems. Cut stems into even slices.
2. Put broccoli into boiling salted water. Add stems first, let them cook for a few minutes, then add flowerets. Cook until tender-crisp, about 8 minutes. Drain well.
3. In the meantime, heat mushroom soup with half-and-half. Add grated onion, cheddar cheese and paprika. Add salt and pepper.
4. Place drained broccoli in a shallow baking dish.
5. Pour sauce over. Sprinkle with buttered bread crumbs.
6. Bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes or until top is slightly brown and dish is bubbling hot.
7. Serve as a side dish with chicken, fish or ham.
