Preparation Instructions:Combine all ingredients. Simmer until fruit is soft, about 20 minutes. Pack into hot, scalded pint jars, leaving 1/4 inch of headspace. Seal and process for 5 minutes in a boiling water bath.
This recipe can be used in place of mincemeat in pie filling. Instead of chopping tomatoes and apples, just put them through a meat grinder. You can substitute raisins for the currants.
