"Quick Sloppy Joes"
Great Ways with Ground Meats (Card 3) from Great American Recipes
Serving Size: Makes 4 servings

Preparation Instructions:1. Cook beef in an 8 to 10 inch frying pan on medium high heat for 5 minutes or until meat begins to brown. Break meat into fine crumbs as it cooks.
2. While beef cooks, peel and chop onion. Remove stem and seeds and chop green pepper.
3. Add onion and pepper to beef along with chili powder. Cook, stirring, for about 15 minutes or until onion is translucent.
4. Stir in sugar and soup. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes more or until hot and bubbly. Add salt and pepper to taste. Keep hot.
5. Split sandwich buns crosswise. Lightly butter cut sides. Toast in a broiler or toaster oven.
6. Spoon hot Sloppy Joe mixture over toasted buns. Serve hot.
