Serving Size: Makes 4 dozen cookies

AmountIngredient
1/2 cupbutter or margarine
1 1/4 cupsgranulated sugar
2 teaspoonsvanilla
2eggs
2 squares (2 ounces)unsweetened chocolate, melted, or 2 envelopes liquid chocolate
2 cupsall purpose flour
2 teaspoonsbaking powder
1/2 teaspoonsalt
2 tablespoonsmilk
1/2 cupchopped walnuts or pecans
 Powdered sugar, optional

Preparation Instructions:

1. In large bowl, cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Beat in the eggs and chocolate.

2. Stir in the dry ingredients alternately with the milk. Add the nuts.

3. Chill dough if necessary. Shape into 1 inch balls. Roll in powdered sugar, if used.

4. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart.

5. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes or just until cookies are firm in the center.

6. Remove from cookie sheets and cool on racks. Sprinkle with additional powdered sugar, if desired.

Per serving: 73 calories; 1.1 g protein; 3.6 g fat; 9.6 g carbohydrates; 60 mg sodium.
