"Bruschetta on Pesto Buttered Focaccia Bread"

Serving Size: Makes 30 appetizers

1/4 cupbutter, melted
1 1/2 tablespoonspurchased or homemade basil pesto
340 g rectangular loaffocaccia bread, cut into 15 slices
2 1/2 cupspreshredded Canadian Italian type cheese blend
6plum tomatoes, sliced
 Chopped fresh basil

Preparation Instructions:

1. Combine butter and pesto; brush on 1 side of each bread slice.

2. Place bread directly on preheated grill, buttered side down. Cook, with lid open, over medium heat until lightly toasted, about 2 or 3 minutes.

3. Arrange the bread slices, toasted side up, on foil lined baking sheets. Top each with 2 heaping tablespoons cheese and sliced tomatoes.

4. Place each baking sheet on grill and cook, with lid closed, over medium heat until underside of bread is toasted, about 3 to 4 minutes. Cut slices in half and garnish with basil. Serve immediately. Makes 30 appetizers.
