Winter Chili Sauce

Preparation Tips:Combine the first seven ingredients in a large pot or Dutch oven. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Reduce heat to simmer and add pickling spice and peppers tied together in cheesecloth bag. Allow to simmer for 3 or 4 hours, stirring occasionally until mixture thickens. Pour into hot sterilized jars and seal. Yield: About 3 pints.
