Serving Size: Makes 6 servings

AmountIngredient
1 poundground beef, pork or lamb
1/4 cupchopped onion
1/4 cupchopped green pepper
10 3/4 ounce cancondensed golden mushroom, cream of celery or cream of chicken soup
1/2 cupmilk
1/2 teaspoondried thyme, crushed
1/2 teaspoondried basil, crushed
1/4 teaspoonsalt
2 cupsfrozen loose packed hash brown potatoes, partially thawed, cooked rice or cooked barley
10 ounce packagefrozen mixed vegetables, cut green beans or whole kernel corn
Croutons or canned French fried onions (optional)

Preparation Instructions:

In a 10 inch skillet, combine meat, onion, and green pepper. Cook till meat is browned and onion is tender; drain off excess fat. Combine soup, milk, thyme, basil and salt. Stir into meat. Add hash browns, rice or barley and desired vegetable. Cover; simmer 25 to 30 minutes or till heated through, stirring occasionally. If desired, garnish with croutons or french fried onions. Serves 4.
