"Nougat Bars"

Serving Size: Makes 2 1/2 - 3 dozen

AmountIngredient
3 tablespoonsbutter or margarine
1/2 poundmarshmallows
4 cupspuffed corn cereal
1/2 cupflaked coconut
1/4 cupcoarsely chopped walnuts
1/2 teaspoonsalt
3/4 of a 6 ounce packagesemi sweet chocolate pieces (3/4 cup)

Preparation Instructions:

In double boiler, melt butter with marshmallows; stir until smooth. Remove from heat. Add cereal, coconut, nuts, salt; press smooth into greased 9 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Melt chocolate over hot, not boiling, water; spread over candy. Cool till firm; then cut. Makes 2 1/2 to 3 dozen.
