Serving Size: Makes 40 rounds

AmountIngredient
3/4 cupbutter or margarine
3 cupsshredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 1/2 - 1 3/4 cupsall purpose flour
Dashsalt
1 tablespoonpoppy seed or 2 tsp paprika
Paprika or poppy seeds, for garnish, optional

Preparation Instructions:

1. Cream butter in food processor or mixer until light and fluffy.

2. Add cheese, flour, salt, paprika or poppy seed. Form to a dough.

3. Chill dough for about 2 hours.

4. Shape dough into small even balls.

5. Place on greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with some extra paprika or poppy seeds, if desired.

6. Bake balls at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes or until just baked through. The rounds should never get browned.

7. Cool on the cookie sheet. Remove carefully.

8. Store in airtight containers until ready to serve.

9. When serving, reheat for a few minutes at 400 degrees until slightly warm.

Per serving: 82 calories; 2.6 g protein; 3.4 g carbohydrates; 6.4 g fat; 95 mg sodium.
