Cracked-Wheat Bread

1 1/2 pound loaf 
3/4 cupwater
1/3 cupcracked wheat
3/4 cupmilk
2 1/4 cupsbread flour
3/4 cupwhole wheat flour
1 1/2 teaspoonssalt
2 tablespoonsbutter or margarine
1 1/2 tablespoonshoney
1 1/2 tablespoonsmolasses
2 teaspoonsRed Star brand active dry yeast for all machines
  
1 Pound Loaf 
1/2 cupwater
1/4 cupcracked wheat
1/2 cupmilk
1 1/2 cupsbread flour
1/2 cupwhole wheat flour
1 teaspoonsalt
1 1/2 tablespoonsbutter or margarine
1 tablespoonhoney
1 tablespoonmolasses
2 teaspoonsRed Star brand active dry yeast for all machines

Preparation Tips:

In a small saucepan, heat the water to boiling; add cracked wheat. Cook on medium-high heat for approximately 6 minutes until all the water is absorbed; stir occasionally with a wooden spoon. Remove pan from heat; allow cracked wheat to cool to room temperature.

Place all ingredients, including cooled cracked wheat, in bread pan and press Start.

After the baking cycle ends, remove bread from pan, place on cake rack, and allow to cool 1 hour before slicing.
