Chocolate Waffles

AmountIngredient
1 cupunsifted all-purpose flour
3/4 cupsugar
1/2 cupHershey's cocoa
1/2 teaspoonbaking powder
1/2 teaspoonbaking soda
1/4 teaspoonsalt
1 cupbuttermilk or sour milk
2eggs
1/4 cupbutter or margarine, melted

Preparation Tips:

Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl. Add buttermilk and eggs; beat with wooden spoon just until blended. Gradually add melted butter, beating until smooth. Bake in waffle iron according to manufacturer's directions. Serve warm with pancake syrup or, for dessert, with ice cream, fruit-flavored syrups and sweetened whipped cream. 10 to 12 four inch waffles.

Tip: To make sour milk use 1 tablespoon vinegar and add milk to equal 1 cup.
