Jam Filled Butter Balls

AmountIngredient
1 cupbutter or margarine, softened
1/2 cupsugar
1egg
2 1/4 cupsFive Roses all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoonsalt
 No-Cook Strawberry-Raspberry Jam

Preparation Tips:

1. Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg; beat well. Blend in flour and salt.
2. Shape dough into 1 1/2" balls. Place on greased baking sheets. Use handle of wooden spoon or thumb to make deep indentations in centre of each ball.
3. Bake at 325 degrees F 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on rack.
4. Fill centres with jam. Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
Variation: Brush balls with 1 lightly beaten egg white. Dip in 3/4 cup finely chopped nuts. Then place on baking sheet and indent.
* For best results, use only those brands mentioned.
