Applesauce Nut Bread

AmountIngredient
2 cupsall-purpose flour
2 teaspoonsbaking powder
1 teaspoonsalt
1 teaspooncinnamon
1/2 cupbutter or margarine, softened
3/4 cupgranulated sugar
1/2 cupbrown sugar
2eggs
1 1/4 cupsthick or chunky style applesauce
1 cupwalnuts, chopped

Preparation Tips:

1. Sift the flour with the baking powder, salt and cinnamon.
2. Cream the butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
4. Stir half of the dry ingredients into sugar mixture, and then half of the applesauce. Repeat.
5. Fold nuts into batter. Pour into a well greased and floured 9 by 5 by 3 inch loaf pan.
6. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, or until a cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
7. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove. Let bread cool completely on wire rack before slicing.
