Shrimp Boil

AmountIngredient
3 cans (16 ounces each) or 4 bottles (12 ounces each)beer or 1 1/2 quarts water
1 tablespoonsalt
3 poundsfresh or frozen medium shrimp (in shells)
Cocktail Sauce: 
1/2 cupcatsup
2 to 3 teaspoonshorseradish
2 tablespoonslemon juice

Preparation Tips:

In large kettle, heat beer and salt to boiling. Add shrimp; heat just to boiling. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 3 to 5 minutes. Drain.

Serve with Cocktail Sauce. Guests peel their own shrimp. Children's sand pails are good containers for the discarded shells. 4 to 5 servings.

Cocktail Sauce: In small bowl, mix catsup, horseradish, and lemon juice. About 2/3 cup sauce.
