Peach Chocolate Cake

Preparation Instructions:1. In small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup milk and 1 egg. Beat well. Add chocolate. Cook over low heat, stirring until mixture comes to a boil. Cool.
2. In large bowl, cream 1 cup sugar, shortening and vanilla. Beat in 2 eggs, one at a time.
3. Mix flour, baking soda and salt.
4. Beat flour mixture and 1 cup milk into creamed mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Beat in chocolate mixture.
5. Spoon batter into 2 greased and floured pans. Sprinkle with almonds.
6. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes or until done.
7. Cool in pans. Invert onto rack.
8. Cream butter and sugar. Add cream, chocolate and vanilla. Beat.
9. Place one cake layer, almonds up on plate. Spread with frosting. Layer with peaches.
10. Place second layer on top. Frost cake. Garnish with peaches.
