Fresh Blackberry Pie

AmountIngredient
 Pastry for double-crust pie
1 1/4 cupssugar
1/4 cupall-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoonsalt
4 cupsfresh blackberries
 Vanilla ice cream

Preparation Instructions:

Prepare and roll out pastry. Line a 9 inch pie plate with half of the pastry; trim pastry to edge of pie plate.

Combine sugar, flour, and salt. Add black berries, tossing to coat. Pour berry mixture into pastry-lined pie plate. Cut slits in top crust; place atop filling. Seal and flute edge. To prevent overbrowning, cover edge of pie with foil. Bake in 375 degree oven for 20 minutes. Remove foil; bake for 25 to 30 minutes longer or till golden. Cool on rack. Serve with ice cream, if desired.
