    5 ounces hard pretzels

  1 tablespoon olive or peanut oil

  2 large eggs

  1 1/2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

  1 1/2 teaspoons dried thyme

  1 1/2 teaspoons dried marjoram

  1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

  1/4 teaspoon salt

  Pepper, to taste

  Pinch cayenne (optional)

  3 1/2 pound chicken, cut into 8 pieces (or chicken legs)
