    1/2 cup butter or margarine

  1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

  1 1/2 teaspoons grated orange rind

  1 egg

  1 1/4 cups all purpose flour

  1 teaspoon baking powder

  6 ounces (1 heaping cup) chopped dried apricots

  1/2 cup sliced almonds

  Chocolate Glaze:

  3 ounces semisweet chocolate chips

  1/2 tablespoon Grand Marnier, optional
