Meatball Tortellini Stew

  10 ounce package frozen chopped spinach

  1/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs

  1 egg

  1 teaspoon salt

  1/4 teaspoon pepper

  2 tablespoons salad oil

  1 large onion

  4 cups beef broth

  16 ounce can tomatoes

  16 ounce can cannelli, kidney, or garbanzo beans

  1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves

  1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves

  1 cup carrots

  1 cup celery

  9 ounce package tortellini with cheese filling
