  3 chicken breast halves (1 1/2 pounds)

  3 chicken thighs (3/4 pound)

  3 chicken drumsticks ( 1/2 pound)

  3/4 cup carrot

  10 cloves garlic

  1/2 cup chicken broth

  1/4 teaspoon salt

  1/4 teaspoon pepper
