Chicken Flautas

    1 broiler-fryer (about 2 1/2 pounds), cut up

  2 tablespoons lard or vegetable shortening

  1 medium-size onion

  1 clove garlic

  1 tablespoon cornstarch

  1 1/4 teaspoons salt

  1/4 teaspoon pepper

  1/2 cup canned diced, mild green chilies or to taste (about 4 ounce can)

  Vegetable oil for frying

  1 dozen fresh or frozen corn tortillas

  1 cup sour cream

  1/4 cup milk
